This may very well be a coincidence, but ti might be telling that a contract from the Dallas Cowboys is not coming anytime soon for Ezekiel Elliott.
After the Dallas Cowboys preseason win in Hawaii, Jerry Jones answered a question with with “Zeke who?” but did so with a smile and laugh. It may have been all fun and games when he said it, but Zeke nor his agent appreciated that comment.
“I didn’t think it was funny and neither did Zeke — we actually thought it was disrespectful,” agent Rocky Arceneaux told ESPN on Monday afternoon.
The Cowboys owner then clarified he wanted Elliott to know he was just “cracking a joke at Zeke’s expense.”
A few days before that, a photo surfaced online showing that Zeke was actually headed back to Dallas and it had many thinking a contract was coming soon. As it turns out, he spent a few days home and then headed right back to Cabo soon after those comments from the Dallas Cowboys owner.
It should be noted that may have been the plan all along, but no one truly knows other than Ezekiel Elliott. One things for sure is he is likely to miss the entire preseason as well as a few games as he continues to holdout for a new contract to line up with him arguably being the best running back in the league.
