The NFL Draft has passed, and former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott still doesn’t have a team.
In one of this offseason’s most shocking moves, the Cowboys released the fan favorite at the beginning of the offseason. However, according to another Dallas football icon, we may not have seen the last of Zeke in a Cowboys uniform after all.
While speaking with Sports Illustrated, former Cowboys quarterback and current ESPN commentator Troy Aikman hinted at the possibility of Dallas bringing back their former first-round pick.
“I don’t want to speak for the Cowboys or the Joneses, but it feels like (a reunion) might be the case,” Aikman told us said during a charity event for the Children’s Cancer Fund. “I know there’s a great amount of respect for Zeke. …
“I’ve talked to a number of people that have been in that locker room – coaches, players – and he’s the glue.”

That still leaves them with a rather questionable depth chart at the running back position. Once all the smoke settles from the draft, it certainly would make sense for the Cowboys to look at adding a more reliable option behind Pollard.
Names like Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette are also available, but none make more sense for the Cowboys than Zeke.
