The New England Patriots are reportedly receiving calls about running back Ezekiel Elliott prior to Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.
Most of the pre-trade-deadline chatter surrounding New England has centered around other players, but it looks like the former Dallas Cowboys all-pro could be moved.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, “RB-needy” teams have inquired about Elliott’s availability with the 4 p.m. ET deadline quickly approaching.
Elliott, who signed with the Patriots in August, played well during his first seven games.
The former Dallas Cowboys running back posted 60 rushes for 224 yards and a touchdown while adding 13 catches for 59 yards.
He may see an even bigger increased role depending on what team trades for him if it were to happen. He likely wants to be on a contending team as the New England Patriots are at the bottom of the AFC East and looking like a team that is headed for a high draft pick instead of the playoffs.
