New England Patriots’ running back Ezekiel Elliott wasted little time revealing which number he’ll wear with his new team in 2023.
On Monday afternoon, the veteran RB announced his plans to join the Patriots. Elliott also hinted that he’d be wearing No. 15, the number he wore during his tenure with the Ohio State Buckeyes. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later confirmed that Elliott will be wearing No. 15.
Here is how NFL fans reacted to the news that Elliott will be going back to the number he wore back in college:

The Dallas Cowboys released Elliott in a cap-saving move back in March, as they opted to move forward with 1,000-yard rusher Tony Pollard as their RB1. Pollard was assigned the franchise tag, but the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement on a long-term extension.
After a long wait, Elliott has finally landed a new team that should utilize him aplenty in 2023. The Patriots always run out a top-10 rushing offense, and Elliott should do wonders working alongside 1,000-yard rusher Rhamondre Stevenson.
Something fun worth noting: Elliott won’t have to wait long to return to his old team, as the Patriots are slated to visit the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Week 4.
Elliott and the Patriots will begin the 2023 season with a home tilt against one of his old rival teams from Dallas, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Sept. 10.
