Ezekiel Elliott, the star running back for the Dallas Cowboys who was diagnosed with the coronavirus, spoke out for the first time since his diagnosis was told to the world.
The 24-year-old was interviewed on Twitch, where he said, “I feel good. I feel normal. I still can’t work out.” He said at his worst, he suffered from a shortness of breath.
“I would say I had 1 or 2 days where I felt symptoms — and even then it wasn’t too bad.”
“I had a cough and a little shortness of breath. Now I feel good, I feel normal.”
Zeke still has to wait to workout as well:
“I gotta wait. I could’ve went and got re-tested this week. But, I decided it wouldn’t hurt to wait another week and just give myself more time to rest up.”
“But, I feel good.”
He expressed hope that the NFL season won’t be affected by the outbreak but said,“I just don’t know how they can keep the players healthy. You’ve got to put the health of the players first. He continued, “We have to find a way to make sure the players and their families, and the coaches also and their families, aren’t put at risk.”

Elliott on the possibility of NFL games without fans in the stands:
“I think it’d be a little weird for sure. It’d be weird to be in AT&T Stadium with no fans but I want to play football. I miss football. It’s been tough not having OTAs and not really being able to be around the guys and just that comradery. I miss the comradery.”
