This past Sunday against the 49ers, running back Tony Pollard led the team with 12 carries for 69 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 63 yards receiving as he helped the team to a huge win to keep them on pace to possibly winning the NFC east.
On social media, Cowboys fans began lobbying for Pollard to continue to get more carries and for him to just take the starting RB job over Ezekiel Elliott who has been a disappointment in 2020.
On Wednesday, Zeke fired back at those who think he needs to lose his job to Pollard:
Jerry Jones was asked earlier this week if Elliott is missing Pollard’s burst, he said “I don’t think so, they’re two different backs.”
In addition to that comment, Jones added that Elliott is a “tremendous weapon” for the Cowboys.
Zeke only has 832 rushing yards and 285 receiving yards, which are way below his standards and well beyond what the Cowboys were hoping for when they signed him to a hefty extension.
