Former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot has finally found a new home following his release earlier this year.
Elliott had been a free agent since March 15, with the Cowboys letting him go after eight seasons. And, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the RB has agreed to join the New England Patriots on a one-year deal worth $6 million.
There were fears over Elliott failing to land a new contract given the claims he had lost several steps and was washed, having gone through lots of wear and tear during his time with the Cowboys. Still, it’s understood that several teams were eying him as a potential signing for short-yardage situations.
Following what must have been a successful visit with the Patriots earlier in the offseason, the 2016 All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler will be playing in a new uniform for the first time in his pro career.
