Even being named the unanimous MVP of the 2019 season, Lamar Jackson is still out here getting disrespected.
Mike Westhoff, who served as special-teams coordinator with the Saints in 2017 and 2018, was attempting to praise Taysom Hill during an interview in early January, but actually disrespected Jackson in the process.
During the interview with Zach Gelb of CBS Sports Radio — Westhoff had this to say:
“Take a look at Baltimore,” Westhoff said when discussing Hill’s skill set. “It’s the same kind of guy. Taysom Hill does those same kind of things. I think he throws better.”
Hill, who is entering free agency, threw just six passes for 55 yards during the 2019 season. In his 3-year career, he has tossed only 13 total passes for 119 yards and 0 touchdowns. His versatility keeps him in rotation as he’s racked up 64 rushing attempts for 352 yards and three touchdowns and 22 passes caught for 238 yards and 6 TDs. Not to mention, he has returned 15 kickoffs for 360 yards, and made 13 tackles.
Baltimore Ravens’ second-year quarterback threw for 3,127 yards and 36 touchdowns. He added 1,206 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
