According to a report from South Florida radio host Andy Slater — former Raiders Pro Bowl center Barret Robbins has gotten himself arrested in South Florida.
Robbins has been arrested three times over the last month. “Police say they’ve found him frequently sleeping outside of a 7-Eleven,” Slater reports.
Aside from his career, Robbins is best known for going AWOL the day before Super Bowl XXXVII and ended up partying in Tijuana after not taking his depression medication.
“If when I got into a manic episode I can ask for help, I’d be OK,” Robbins said in a 2011 interview. “But when I go into a manic episode, it’s not in me to ask for help. It doesn’t happen that way. That’s the frustrating part about it. I know what’s going on, but I’m not conscious of my decisions. I’m just basically sleepwalking. That’s really what it is. That’s what it amounts to.”
Robbins was suspended by Raiders coach Bill Callahan over the Super Bowl incident and eventually spent 30 days at the Betty Ford Clinic where he was diagnosed as bipolar.
He was arrested in 2018 on charges of cocaine and drug paraphernalia possession. Robbins is 47 years old and last played in the NFL in 2003.
