Aaron Dobson last played a regular season game in the NFL in 2015 as a member of the New England Patriots, which was his 3rd with the franchise.
The second round pick in the 2013 draft played just 24 games, only 13 starts, due to injuries and unfulfilled expectations. He would find himself being cut in September 2016.
Just hours before the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday, the former Patriots WR went on a Twitter war path about his time there and the memories that people have of him.
Dobson saw a huge reduction in playing time after his first season and it played a huge role in his statistical decline.
“Some of the conversations I had about me not playing in NE went like this..why are you hanging out (with) defensive players? (like we are not all on the same team) why do you wear your hoodie so much in the building? (Like why does that even matter) I can’t make this up lol (shaking my head),” Dobson tweeted.

“Then all of a sudden a huge article comes out about me mouthing off to coaches and being disrespectful lol and that was the reason I wasn’t playing.. never happened EVER! But why make a story up like that?…” Dobson posted.
He continued:
Even though he last played in 15, he was was on the Arizona Cardinals’ roster during the 2017 offseason, but chose to walk away from the game.
He ended his career with 53 catches, 698 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns.
