You know the refs are bad when former players are on the side of former rival teams.
Matthews put his Packers past behind him and joined everybody in slamming the NFL and its officiating after the Detroit Lions got absolutely hosed on Monday Night Football that handed his former team a win.
The Los Angeles Rams linebacker took to Twitter and spoke to a broader point of inept officiating across the entire NFL landscape:
“The storyline for the 2019 season continues to be the refs inability to make the accurate and correct calls week in and week out. Al Riveron continues to blindly side with his refs and the current status quo. Something must change! Zero accountability.”
Refs flagged poor Lions defensive end Trey Flowers twice for phantom illegal hands to the face penalties that extended a pair of Packer scoring drives that resulted in a touchdown and eventually the game-winning field goal.
