It’s been the rallying cry of many a disappointed fan over the years when their favorite team loses: the game is rigged!
Former Chicago Bears went super viral back in April 2020 when he suddenly took to Twitter and dropped a gem that conspiracy theorists will absolutely love:
“The NFL is scripted but they make us sign something so we can’t go into detail… Tired of holding back.. Who want the full story ..”
He has since deleted that tweet and never gave the full story. When former teammate Tarik Cohen retweeted Cunningham and responded with only multiple laughing emojis, Cunningham doubled down, responding: “Let’s be real with people, bro.”
Cunningham was back in the news this week after his quote went viral again, so naturally, Larry Johnson was asked about it.
The former Chiefs running back all but confirmed that the league is indeed scripted.

Cunningham played in the NFL for six seasons, from 2013-2018. He spent his first four years with the Rams before getting signed by the Bears in 2017. He played in 29 total games for Chicago, rushing for 49 yards on 20 attempts and scoring two touchdowns.
