Ex-NFL QB Dan Orlovsky Would Take Sam Darnold Over Lamar Jackson (AUDIO)

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky is making some explosive comments when he appeared on the My Sports Update Football Podcast earlier this week.

I asked @danorlovsky7 if he'd rather have Sam Darnold or Daniel Jones for the next 10 years. Not only did he pick Darnold… but he took it one step further. "I'm taking Sam over every young QB that's come into the NFL the last 3 years."

Orlovsky would explain that Darnold is just as talented as any young QB in the league, and that includes 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.

He then added that Jackson has benefited from being in a strong foundation that was already in place with the Ravens, whereas Darnold is part of a complete rebuild with the New York Jets.

“You mean to tell me that Lamar Jackson… if he got drafted by the Jets, he wins MVP?” Orlovsky said on the podcast. “You mean to tell me that if Sam Darnold goes to a team that has a top-five run game similar to the Ravens and a top-five defense similar to the Ravens, we don’t have a very different outlook on Sam Darnold?”

Jackson’s style of play with his running ability led to the Ravens changing their offensive scheme, but he also led the NFL in touchdown passes and touchdown percentage while breaking the record for rushing yards by a quarterback.
