Rey Maualuga is not having the best post-NFL career.
The former Bengals linebacker has been arrested again for driving while under the influence, according to TMZ Sports.
“Details surrounding his arrest are unclear — we’re working on it — but records show Maualuga was booked on three charges, including DUI, criminal mischief first degree and criminal mischief third degree,” TMZ Sports wrote.
Maualuga is no stranger to breaking the law as he was booked in July 2020 on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. In 2010, Maualuga was arrested on drunk driving charges after crashing into a parking meter and two parked cars. He also recorded a blood alcohol level of .157.
After that arrest, Maualuga apologized for his actions.
“I will learn from this and become a better person and a better man from all this,” said Maualuga. “And I will assure you that this will never happen again.”
He last played with the Miami Dolphins in 2017. However, after just six games played, Maualuga was arrested in November of that season as the result of a bar fight in a Miami nightclub. He was subsequently cut by the team, and has not played football since.
