Last Friday, Greg Spires had gotten himself arrested in Concord, NH and was formally charged with stalking and violating a protective order against him.
Via ESPN:
“Greg Spires, 44, of Cyprus, Texas, is charged with stalking, a misdemeanor. He is being held without bail pending his arraignment Monday morning in Concord’s district court.
Spires’s ex-wife took out a protective order against him Thursday in Concord after he showed up twice at sporting events that she was attending for their daughter, Concord police said. Spires is accused of going to Concord High School during the school day Friday in violation of that order.
Police said Spires has a history of domestic violence. He was taken into custody without incident on the misdemeanor charge.”
If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Spires played 3 years as defensive end for the New England Patriots from 1998-2000. His career would ultimately end in 2007 after playing one season with the Cleveland Browns and six seasons for the Tampa Bay Bucs.
Police say Spires has a history of domestic violence in his past.
