Reshad Jones was arrested in Florida on Wednesday after cops say he was illegally carrying a loaded firearm near a Davie gas station shortly after 4 a.m.
The former Miami Dolphins star safety was seen with a gun in his hand, walking around gas station parking lots, according to the arrest report.
Via Sun Sentinel:
“Davie police officer Clint Burns said Jones was walking across the street when they made contact with him, and Burns noticed a handgun sticking out of his right front pants pocket.
The report states Jones was difficult with authorities, unable to provide a concealed weapons permit and appeared under the influence of an unknown substance with a heavy odor of alcohol.
Jones was arrested by at about 4:45 a.m. and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. He is no longer listed as an inmate at Broward County Jail, an indication he posted his $1,000 bond.”
His 10-year run with the Dolphins ended when the team released him in March.
He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection with 21 interceptions, 10 1/2 sacks and six defensive touchdowns. Jones’ four interception returns for touchdowns are tied with Dolphins great Zach Thomas for the most in team history.
