If you really want to be honest, after Jason Witten agreed to un-retire to play for the Dallas Cowboys, this could’ve been seen as super real.
On Monday, former Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray decided to whip the fan base into a frenzy when he took to Twitter and announced that he was coming back to the team, just as his former teammate in Witten did last month.
“After much consideration and thought, excited to be back with my man Jason Witten and the Dallas Cowboys,” he wrote. “Two rushing champs in the same backfield. Let’s get it, Ezekiel Elliott.”
Needless to say, Murray is joking.
The 30-year-old retired from the NFL in 2018 and took his talents to the broadcasting booth, much like Tony Romo and Jason Witten did.
DeMarco will always be remembered for his unbelievable 2014 season with the Cowboys, but things would quickly sour in the offseason when he would take his talents to the Philadelphia Eagles, which led to career-lows across the board for him.
