Shawn Oakman is finally going to get his oppurtunity to show what he can do on a football field.
Several early mock drafts projected Oakman to be a first round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but that all went to dust after he was accused of sexual assault by a woman he had a previous relationship with. Back in March, he got his chance to put this entire thing behind him after a McLennan County jury found the former Baylor Bears defensive end not guilty of sexual assault in a case that has drawn national attention.
Fast forward to October and Oakman is about get set to hit the field in 2020 when he suits up for the Los Angeles Wildcats after they selected him in the XFL Draft.
The 6-foot-9 Oakman currently weighs 280 pounds, and even though he never really got his shot to be in the NFL, it’s nice to see him land on his feet and somewhat realize his dream of playing professional football.
