With the NFL Draft a little over a month away, we have some movement going on in the first round. The Minnesota Vikings have acquired the No. 23 overall pick in a trade with the Houston Texans.
Along with No. 23, the Vikings received the 232nd pick in the draft while sending No. 42 and No. 188 overall to the Texans on top of another second-round pick in 2025.
Minnesota already has the No. 11 overall pick in the first round, meaning they now have two selections on Day 1 coupled with this newly acquired pick from Houston.
This movement comes after former starting quarterback Kirk Cousins signed a deal with the Atlanta Falcons to end his tenure in Minnesota. Atlanta signed him to a four-year deal coming off an Achilles injury ahead of his 36th birthday.

It seems the team has a plan to get a quarterback they want.
The team signed veteran quarterback Sam Darnold earlier this week to a one-year, $10 million deal. He is not the future but a bridge quarterback and insurance. You can expect Minnesota to be aggressive in trying to move up for a quarterback in the draft.
The Vikings reportedly tried to move up last year to get C.J. Stroud but they only had a fraction of the capital they have now. The team is primed and ready to swing for the fences again.
