Every time a prized NFL quarterback makes a move, social media has gone into a frenzy with their reactions.
When Tom Brady announced his comeback, Twitter couldn’t hold back from roasting the dude who spent over half-a-million dollars on his “final touchdown ball.” When Deshaun Watson was traded to the Browns, social media sounded off on how a team could give up so much for a man who’s facing 22 civil lawsuits for sexual assault and sexual misconduct.
Heck, even Patrick Mahomes’ decision to tie the knot with Brittany Matthews stirred up quite the firestorm on Twitter.
So it should come as no surprise that the Matt Ryan trade to the Indianapolis Colts on Monday received similar attention from social media. And what’s even less surprising is the one common denominator that everyone seemed to be turning to with their Twitter jokes: 28-3
After Ryan was acquired by the Colts for a third-round pick, Twitter went off with their 28-3 jokes:

That’s some low-hanging fruit right there. And one person who seems to agree is the NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt. He took a moment this morning on “Good Morning Football” to call out all the 28-3 jokesters out there:
Ryan now joins a Colts team that was one win away from making the postseason in 2021. With a stout offensive line, a solid defense, and one of the game’s best running backs, Indy is ready to win now. They just need a quarterback who can lead the way.
We’ll find out if a soon-to-be 37-year-old Matt Ryan is that guy.
