Fans are blasting NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for his testimony during an ongoing lawsuit.
Goodell testified as a witness for the NFL in an antitrust suit in which the plaintiffs claim the league purposely forced money out of fans’ pockets by partnering with YouTube instead of other companies that would have offered cheaper subscriptions for ‘NFL Sunday Ticket’.
Much like New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Goodell claimed that the package is a premium product and should come at a premium price.
“We have been clear throughout that it is a premium product,” he said, per the Associated Press. “Not just on pricing but quality. Fans make that choice whether they wanted it or not. I’m sure there were fans who said it was too costly.”
“We sing it from the mountaintops. We want to reach the broadest possible audience on free television. I think we are very pro-consumer. Our partners have found ways to build our fan base.”
NFL Fans Do Not Agree With Roger Goodell
Of course, fans hardly see it that way. You can check out some of their reactions below:

There’s a whole lot pointing to the NFL wanting to keep the price for ‘Sunday Ticket’ high in order to appease CBS and FOX as a more affordable package would cut in on their market.
The outcome of this case is crucial, as the league stands to lose around $21 billion if it loses. However, you can rest assured that the NFL will exhaust every avenue before giving in, even if it means going to the United States Supreme Court.
