Jason Kelce started his press conference in tears on Monday morning as he announced his retirement from football following a 13-year career.
However, one of his most emotional moments came when he began speaking about his brother, Travis Kelce.
Jason and Travis are two years apart and share a very close bond. As Jason revealed on Monday, they mostly had each other growing up as they come from a small family of just their parents, one aunt, one uncle, and zero cousins.
“This is where it’s going to go off the rails,” he said before he began discussing his relationship with his brother.
“I won’t forget falling short to the Chiefs and the conflicted feeling of immense heartbreak I had selfishly. For my self an for my teammates, and at the same time, the amount of pride I had for my brother, who climbed the mountaintop once again.”
He recalled how inseparable they were growing up.
“It was my brother and I our whole lives,” he continued. ”We did almost everything together, competed, fought, laughed, cried and learned from each other …

Jason and Travis kept up their bond in college, playing at Cincinnati together before the former was drafted, they’ve also partnered up for a podcast called ‘New Heights’ that’s doing extremely well on the back of their success in the NFL.
While he spent his entire career with the Eagles, Jason was the biggest Chiefs fan during the playoffs as he made it his duty to support his brother as soon as the NFC side lost in the Wild Card Round.
