An NFL Waterboy’s job is quite simple as their main task is to keep some of the best athletes in the country hydrated by making sure there is always water and other liquids available to them. That could be during practice or an actual game.
While it seems like a nothing of a job, it gives you the opportunity to be up close and personal with the sport in a way that is normally reserved for the players themselves. On top of that, it pays pretty damn well.
According to stack.com, the starting salary for a waterboy is an astounding $53,000 per year, but it can balloon quite high if you have more experience.
It not as easy of a job as you might think as Waterboys also need to conscious of player needs at all times relative to the ongoing game or practice session. Basically, they need to tend to players without distracting or hindering them in anyway. You’re basically a ghost with a bottle.
While the salary of a NFL waterboy is respectable, the real plus side of the job is in the perks and of course being able to interact on a personal level.
