It’s never the best idea to make your potential future franchise quarterback mad right before the start of the NFL Draft, and it seems one team has done that to Jayden Daniels.
The Commanders, who have the second overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft and are expected by everyone to draft a quarterback, hosted four of the top quarterback prospects in the draft on the same day.
The Commanders hosted Daniels, Maye, Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, and Washington’s Michael Penix on Tuesday and Wednesday.
LSU Tigers star quarterback Jayden Daniels reportedly was not thrilled with that.
Recently, ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously said on his podcast that he believed the Washington Commanders, with their No. 2 overall selection, were leaning toward LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. However, during an appearance on Get Up, things may be shaky now since Daniels was upset over his meeting with the team.
Ron Butler of Agency 1 Sports, who represents Jayden Daniels, went viral after social media users noticed he liked posts criticizing the Commanders for the unusual approach, according to Commanders Wire.

While Daniels and his agent may be upset, Schefter did state the day before that everything is “tracking” for the Commanders to select him with the number two pick.
“I think it’s tracking for Jayden Daniels to be 2, but Washington’s got all the quarterbacks in this week; let’s see what they decide,” Schefter said on the “Money Down” podcast. “There’s still ten days, people change their minds, there’s a lot that happens. Again, I’m guessing, I want to be clear. I’m guessing that Jayden would be the 2nd pick today. I don’t know that. That’s my guess.”
Jayden Daniels Has Incredible Upside Coming Off A Heisman Trophy Season
Former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is coming off an incredible senior season for the Tigers that culminated in a Heisman Trophy victory after he completed 72.2 percent of his passes for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns, adding another 1,134 yards on the ground while rushing for ten touchdowns.
Daniels finished his collegiate career with 12,750 passing yards, 3,307 rushing yards, 124 total touchdowns, and 20 interceptions.
The Washington Commanders or whichever NFL team will be lucky to have him.
