Tamaurice “Tee” Higgins was selected by the Bengals with the 33rd overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but the moment became less about him and more about his mother.
Some of ESPN’s graphics came under fire from onlookers, with one of them being a bullet point list of personal info about Higgins’ mother, Camillia, and how she fought a drug addiction for 16 years.
Higgins himself took to social media after the draft and went public with the following positive message:
He took the classy route, but it did not nothing to stop the anger for a lot of people who felt it was just too far.
Terrell Owens was one of those people who responded to Higgins on Twitter, but made it a pint to also blast ESPN for their actions. He also asked analysts like Stephen A. Smith and Marcus Spears to stand up for their people.
