Chicago was tortured by Aaron Rodgers for years and now some analysts think they may be getting their own version of him.
The Chicago Bears taking USC’s Caleb Williams with the overall no. 1 pick in this April’s NFL draft is pretty much taken for certain by most NFL experts.
Matt Miller, NFL draft analyst for ESPN, recently made comparisons in a piece about the current 2024 draft class and who he thinks the youngsters remind him of in terms of play.
USC’s Caleb Williams was compared to New York Jets signal-caller Aaron Rodgers, while LSU’s Jayden Daniels was compared to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“The top overall player in the 2024 draft class, Williams combines excellent arm strength, mobility and field vision with a knack for making creative plays when defenses close in on the pocket,” Miller wrote in part on the ex-USC star, who won the 2022 Heisman Trophy.
Standout wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr was compared to former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver AJ Green. Of course, this comparison is when Green was in his prime as opposed to his final years in the league.

Miller had this to say about the LSU star: “Daniels is not only the draft’s best deep-ball thrower — he had a 99.6 QBR targeting vertical routes — he’s also the most dangerous runner among the quarterbacks.”
Daniels had a breakout in 2023, throwing for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns, and just four interceptions while rushing for 1,134 yards and another 10 scores en route to winning the Heisman Memorial Trophy.
Miller compared Drake Maye, who threw for 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns, and nine interceptions and is projected to go second overall, to Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert.
“Maye is poised in the pocket but also mobile when necessary,” Miller added. “And he has proven the past two seasons that he’s capable of putting a team on his back with awesome arm talent and the toughness to pick up difficult yards as a runner.”
At this moment, Williams, Daniels, and UNC’s Drake Maye stand out as the top three quarterbacks available in this year’s draft class.
Williams is far and away the favorite to land as the No. 1 overall choice in the NFL draft.
We’ll see where they all go soon enough with the draft beginning April 25 in Detroit.
