NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday the three were “teams to consider” along with the Kansas City Chiefs. The New York Jets, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers continue to be linked to a trade for San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel.
The New York Jets are being talked about the most as the team who could pull the trigger and snag Deebo. ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler suggested that the Jets could give up their No. 10 overall pick in exchange for Samuel.
“If they want to give up that 10th pick for Deebo, that could be enough to get something done,” Fowler said on Get Up.
Samuel officially requested a trade away from the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week, which has opened the door for speculation on where he might end up.
New York is building around a young quarterback in Zach Wilson, and adding a dynamic player in Deebo Samuel could help speed things along.

After enjoying a career year, Samuel would be an upgrade for almost any passing game in the league. He had 77 receptions for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns in 2021.
Even though he reportedly would not want to play the running back position very much in the future, his talent there cannot be ignored. The 26-year-old had 59 carries for 365 yards and eight touchdowns.
