If not for Carson Wentz mage contract, he likely would soon be cut or traded to another team in the offseason.
It’s bad, but an ESPN graphic really drives home just how difficult it is for the Philadelphia Eagles to do anything with him.
ESPN released a graphic showing just how much salary cap space the Eagles stand to lose if they cut him over the next two years. The franchise will suffer a $59.2 million cap hit if they cut him before June 1 in 2021, and $24.5 million if they cut him before June 1 in 2022.
Check it out:
Wentz has thrown 15 interceptions and has been sacked 50 times so far in 2020. We’ll have to wait and see if the team decides to roll with Jalen Hurts for the next game and beyond.
