ESPN has officially announced a replacement for Robert Griffin III after laying the former NFL quarterback off last week.
Louis Riddick is set to fill in for RG3 as a college football analyst next season on the back of the aforementioned development, with The Worldwide Leader in Sports revealing as much.
“Bob Wischusen and Kris Budden will be joined by Louis Riddick on ABC and ESPN… Riddick, who is synonymous with ESPN’s NFL game, studio and NFL Draft coverage, readies for his fourth college football campaign and will continue to call select Monday Night Football,” the network announced this week.
Riddick, who was previously an NFL front office exec, has been around for a bit and is a regular on football broadcasts for the company. His perspective, given his former role, has proven valuable.
He will continue to work on ‘Monday Night Football’ for certain games.
The announcement dropped shortly after Mike Greenberg was announced as a replacement for Sam Ponder, who was also let go last week. Greenberg will take up Ponder’s vacated role on ‘Sunday NFL Countdown,’ having reportedly beat Laura Rutledge to the job.

Robert Griffin III’s Future Still In Doubt After His Firing
Robert Griffin III’s firing came as a shock despite Jason Kelce arriving at ESPN and taking his spot following the latter’s retirement.
The former quarterback was expected to function in other roles for ESPN but was surprisingly dropped just weeks before the start of the upcoming NFL season. It remains to be seen where he ends up next, but we reckon his phone is pretty busy at the moment.
As for Louis Riddick, he will come in as an able replacement for RG3, though he is unlikely to bring the same type of energy. Still, he is very entertaining in his own way.
