Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson will speak out about anything on their podcast, even when it becomes an uncomfortable conversation.
During the latest installment of their “Calm Down” podcast, the Fox Sports veteran broadcasters spoke on tricky things can get if they start to mix business with pleasure in the sports world.
“I have dated athletes, but never anyone that I was covering at the time,” Thompson said. “So I don’t know, it feels like a tricky situation.”
The 41-year-old Thompson said she dated someone she worked with while at ESPN.
“It wasn’t a superior, like we were equal because obviously then that’s a whole other thing,” she said. “You can’t date your boss.”
Andrews said dating a professional athlete is “looked down upon” in their line of work.
“I think it depends on what your job is,” Andrews, 45, said. “It’s hard because in an everyday job, say if you were a contractor. I don’t know if it is as looked down upon as it is in our world.
“It kinda sucks, there is always this preconceived notion. It just sucks.”

Thompson added she “didn’t date an athlete for the longest time because of that exact thing.”
“It was like, ‘Oh, that’s the only reason you’re doing this job because you want to date the athlete.’ No, it’s actually a good freakin job, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and you make great money,” she said.
Charissa Thompson is a journalist mostly known for her sports coverage with Fox, but she also is widely on social media for her outstanding outfits. The TV personality was making headlines herself in April 2022 after filing for divorce after just two years of marriage.
She had a previous marriage when she was 25. She also previously dated ESPN analyst and former Chicago Bulls player Jay Williams. It was around that time when photos and videos of a sexual nature would be sent out over the web.
The FOX and Amazon Prime NFL host is currently dating Steven Cundari, the co-founder of Summit House.
Erin Andrews has been in relationships with Chace Crawford, Josh Hopkins, and David Wright.
Andrews has been married to Jarret Stoll since 2017. They first started dating in 2012.
This year, Andrews worked her fourth Super Bowl on Sunday, as the Chiefs defeated the Eagles in Arizona. It was the first time she was accompanied by Tom Rinaldi after spending the last two Super Bowls alongside Chris Myers, who transitioned to play-by-play.
Her salary is roughly $2 million per year.
