Erin Andrews has called out a certain media outlet for “clickbait” after they took her words out of context.
The FOX Sports personality runs a podcast with colleague Charissa Thompson, during which she recently discussed New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers not sitting at the desk with Thompson after his team’s ‘Thursday Night Football’ win over the New England Patriots last week.
“I get really sensitive when our people…it’s not that they don’t make the time – I’ve made jokes to Tom Brady about it, ‘Remember the game that you threw for 400 yards and you ran right past me on postgame and I reapplied lip gloss, are you insane?’ It’s just rude,” she said, (H/T Awful Announcing). “Or now Aaron, when I talk to you, ‘How dare you not go up on that desk with Charissa.’ It does get personal.”
Andrews was joking about the QB being “rude,” but it didn’t stop various publications from running with the words without making a note of her jovial demeanor.
US Weekly was among them, having taken to Instagram to post the following:
“Erin Andrews called out Aaron Rodgers for snubbing her podcast cohost Charissa Thompson from an interview after his recent #Jets victory. See what she revealed about the post-game etiquette — and why she felt this specific instance was rude — at the link in bio.”

Erin Andrews Was Not Pleased After Seeing Her Words Taken Out Of Context
Andrews was not happy with the post and has since taken to her own Instagram Story to call the publication out for sharing clickbait, pointing out that she was joking and even told funny stories about her friendship with Rodgers.
“HOLY CLICKBAIT!” she wrote. “But let’s not include how I was laughing, being sarcastic, & telling funny stories abt our friendship. The only thing “rude & personal” is the headline #calmdown.”
Andrews also added a clown emoji to the post.
It’s easy to run with the text when you don’t actually see someone speaking but see a quote from them online, so fans could be forgiven for taking the outlet at face value.
Maybe they will change their post now that Andrews has called them out.
