Emmanuel Acho thought he had a valid point he was making on the heels of Sha’Carri Richardson being suspended for weed, but he missed the mark badly.
Richardson tested positive for marijuana recently, meaning she accepted a one-month suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency. Richardson can still run the 4×100 at the Olympics.
In the aftermath of this, Emmanuel Acho, the former NFL linebacker who is now a Fox Sports personality, took to Twitter to give his take on the matter and used Javelin Throwers to make a point.
“Legalizing weed in track and field competition is all good if you’re running in a straight line,” Acho wrote. “Legalizing weed in track and field competition is terribly dangerous if you throw the javelin. Where do we draw line.”
This statement assumes that Richardson was under the influence of marijuana at the time of her Olympic Trial race, when in reality, marijuana can be detected in urine tests 3-30 days after consumption.
Overall, it was just a horrible stance.
