Elijah Moore, receiver for the Cleveland Browns, suffered convulsions after hitting his head on the ground in this tackle on Thursday night against the New York Jets.
Late in the second quarter, Browns’ Elijah Moore was tackled from behind on a routine play, but his head smacked the turf and he would not get up for some time.
The receiver fell helmet first onto the playing surface and then turned onto his back. Moore’s head shook back and forth, which seemed like he was shaking off the hit at first, but then his arms began flailing.
It appeared as if Moore had no control over them, prompting a teammate to call for the training staff. Moore was eventually able to walk off the field. He did not return to the game after the Browns said he suffered a concussion.
Dr. Bennet Omalu, who was the main character in the “Concussion” movie, gave his take on the matter and he shockingly stated Moore should retire from the sport after seeing that hit.
“That is my recommendation,” he told TMZ Sports.
Omalu added Moore may have “permanent damage.”

Another doctor, Jesse Morse, said Moore may have suffered a seizure.
Dr. Evan Jeffries said Moore’s movements were “involuntary…from a brain injury.”
Moore had five receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown against his former New York Jets before the injury.
The team is already without Amari Cooper, who set a team record with 265 receiving yards last week, due to a heel injury.
The Browns still have an outside chance of winning the AFC North as well as snag the AFC number one seed.
