The New York Giants have made several decisions in 2019 that have people scratching their heads.
The front office decided they weren’t going to place a franchise tag on Landon Collins and let him test free agency, and now he’s playing for the Washington Redskins.
The team just recently decided they didn’t want to pay Odell Beckham Jr. $17 million this year, so they traded him to the Cleveland Browns.
What they did decided to keep on the team was aging quarterback Eli Manning, and they’re not only keeping him, but paying him $5 million for doing absolutely nothing.
It’s the fifth day of the 2019 league year, and since Eli Manning is on the roster, he receives a $5M roster bonus. Must be nice.
Eli, who’s in the final year of his contract, is also eligible for a salary of $11.5 million and a workout bonus of $500,000.
The team is expected to find his successor in April’s NFL draft.
