Eli Manning’s popular “Chad Powers” alter ego is getting its own television show.
For those who aren’t aware, Chad Powers is a character Manning created for humorous purposes for an episode of “Eli’s Places.” The two-time Super Bowl champion donned a disguise and posed as a walk-on named “Chad Powers” for Penn State Nittany Lions football tryouts:
The Chad Powers character became so popular that Hulu has decided to turn Eli’s alter ego into a 30-minute comedy show, according to a report from Variety:
“Hulu has ordered the half-hour comedy series “Chad Powers” from Glen Powell and Michael Waldron, Variety has learned.
Powell will star in the series in addition to co-creating and co-writing the pilot with Waldron, with both serving as executive producers. The show is based on the Chad Powers character created by Eli Manning for his EPSN+ docuseries “Eli’s Places.” Manning wanted to learn more about the walk-on process for college football, so he donned a wig and prosthetic makeup so he could go undercover during the Penn State football tryouts.”
To make matters even better, Eli and older brother Peyton Manning will produce the show through Omaha Productions along with Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, Adam Fasullo and ESPN.

Eli was drafted first overall by the San Diego Chargers in 2004 following a successful career at Ole Miss. He refused to play for the Bolts, however, and was quickly flipped to the New York Giants in a blockbuster deal that brought Philip Rivers over to San Diego.
Both Manning brothers went on to win a pair of Super Bowl rings in their illustrious careers. The two co-host the “Manningcast” for “Monday Night Football” on ESPN2 and ESPN+.
Eli and Peyton have also garnered critical acclaim for their humor which they’ve displayed in countless commercials and TV specials, including “Saturday Night Live.” And now, Ei’s alter ego is about to get its own television program. Go figure.
