Eli Manning and Odell Backham Jr. had some great moments together during their days with the New York Giants, but it’s no secret that their relationship didn’t end on the best of terms prior to OBJ’s trade to Cleveland in 2019.
That’s why it’s actually quite shocking to hear that the two-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback actually spoke with Beckham about the latest saga in the life of the Diva wide receiver.
Manning revealed this interesting big of news during Monday night’s ManningCast broadcast on ESPN, as he and his brother discussed Beckham’s move to the Rams during their loss to the 49ers on MNF. Eli claimed that Beckham “knows he needs to get back to playing football, playing good football and doing the things that he’s been able to do over the last couple of years, and that’s making plays.”
While it’s unclear whether Beckham actually sought out Eli for a word, or if this was just part of the Manning’s weekly preparation for another one of their Monday night telecasts. But the fact that these two guys are still on speaking terms is definitely something that will surprise many.
