Eli Apple was having so much fun on the internet a few weeks ago, but one thing abut those tables….they tend to turn when you least expect it to.
Apple is firing responding after the Bengals cornerback was cooked by Rams receivers — and then by his fellow players on social media — in a 23-20 loss to the Rams in Super Bowl 2022.
On Monday, Eli Apple’s mom, Annie, replied to a sports reporter on Twitter that cracked a joke about Apple’s lack of coverage in the big game.
“Such an incredible experience providing coverage at my first Super Bowl, unlike Eli Apple,” Bally Sports reporter Annie Agar tweeted.
Apple replied, “I can believe that. Word on the street is you catch a lotta balls. Mainstream media stays on that bull–t.” She then added a meme of reality star Tiffany Pollard with the caption, “You should have just sat there and ate your food.” She also called out PFF, claiming that the website “made up a whole lie… It was number one trend. Other sports media folks picked up the story, retweeted it without ever vetting or verifying it…all for hate & entertainment.”
While going after Agar, Apple seemingly ignored the players around the league who trolled his performance after Super Bowl 2022.

That list included Chiefs wide receivers Mecole Hardman, Tyreek Hill, Saints WR Michael Thomas, and even baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.
Prior to that, Apple bizarrely attacked the fan bases of the Giants and Saints on Twitter. His trolling put a huge target on his back as he could not deliver in the biggest game of the year.
Apple — who was drafted 10th overall by the Giants in 2016 — became the only player to allow multiple passing touchdowns as the primary defender over the past four Super Bowls, according to NFL on CBS.
