Earl Thomas will not play another down for the Baltimore Ravens after the team parted ways with him on Sunday after he got into a fight with teammate Chuck Clark at practice on Friday. He was sent home by the team and released about 48 hours later.
The Ravens released the seven-time Pro Bowler signing him last March to a four-year deal worth $52 million ($32 million guaranteed).
Thomas reacted to his release via Instagram on Sunday.
“I appreciate the Ravens organization for the opportunity,” Thomas wrote. “Had a great run .. Wish things would have ended different but you live and you learn. Thank you (general manager) Eric DeCosta and everyone else who played a role in bringing me to B-More. Wish you guys the best.”
“We have terminated S Earl Thomas’ contract for personal conduct that has adversely affected the Baltimore Ravens,” the team announced on Twitter.
In a since-deleted Instagram post on Saturday, Thomas attempted to “try and clear the air.”
