If Dallas Cowboys fans had dreams of the team possibly signing Earl Thomas to bolster their defense, it’s likely not going to happen because he wants to become the highest-paid safety in the NFL, with a deal worth more than the $13 million annual contract of Chiefs safety Eric Berry, Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
If the Seattle Seahawks’ safety, who played high school and college football in Texas, is not willing to give the Dallas Cowboys a “hometown discount,” then Thomas will most likely be taking his talents to another squad.
As for the franchise, they have way too much on their plate before they could even think about Earl Thomas.
DeMarcus Lawrence, Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott, and Amari Cooper are all in line to receive significant contracts before the Cowboys can even think about outside help right now.
