The Nick Foles era in Philadelphia has officially ended.
After leading the team to a Super Bowl victory following the season-ending injury to Carson Wentz and then leading the team on a win streak to get them into the playoffs this past season, the Eagles will do right by Foles and not franchise tag him and let him choose which franchise he wants to go to.
General Manager Howie Roseman announced today at the Scouting Combine.
The eagles are lacking badly in the salary cap department, so franchise tagging him would’ve been detrimental as they would’ve been forced to make cuts elsewhere.
Despite ending his last two seasons to injury, Carson Wentz will still remain the full-time starter, whether Foles was coming back or not.
