Devonta Smith cannot be stopped. You can only hope to contain him.
Right now, the Washington Commanders can’t even contain him, though, as the dynamic wide receiver put up 156 receiving yards on seven catches in just the first half.
On the sidelines, Smith’s Eagles teammates rewarded him with a Batman cape after his touchdown gave the team a commanding 24-0 lead over Washington.
After failing to record a single reception in week one, Smith has found his groove with Jalen Hurts. Last week against the Vikings, Smith caught all seven of his targets for 80 yards. And he’s taken things to another level in week three.
Speaking of another level, that’s where the Eagles offense has been all season, as they been terrorizing opposing defenses with their abundance of weapons. Through their first two games, they’ve scored 62 points. And it’s looking like they could add another 40-something points to that total today.
