It was recently reported that the Philadelphia Eagles are on the short list of Ezekiel Elliott’s desired landing spots, but the feeling apparently is not mutual.
But according to NFL Network’s, Elliott going to the Dallas Cowboys’ archrival team “doesn’t seem likely” at this time, though it is a possibility that could be explored after next month’s draft in Kansas City.
Palmer also explained that the Eagles are high on Kenneth Gainwell and free agent pickup Rashaad Penny, who was signed to a one-year contract. Philly lost its leading 2022 rusher, Miles Sanders, to the Carolina Panthers in free agency.
Last week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Elliott wishes to join either the Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals or New York Jets. The Eagles may not be an option at this time, and the Bengals still have Joe Mixon leading the backfield.
The Jets have a capable RB1 in Breece Hall, who was a front-runner for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors before he was lost for the season with a torn ACL. But with Aaron Rodgers presumably about to join the Jets, perhaps the organization will feel more motivated to add a two-time rushing champion to the roster.
