One of Jason Kelce’s star teammates believes the future Hall of Famer is 100 percent done with football.
Kelce has yet to announce a decision on his playing future, but many expect the longtime Philadelphia Eagles center to call it quits soon. Kelce, a 2011 sixth-round pick, has spent his entire career with the Eagles.
Speaking to NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark, Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata claimed “there’s no shot” that Kelce will return for another season in 2024.
“There’s no shot! You’re telling me, he’s going shirt off at the game, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way,” Mailata told Clark. “He’s having too much fun. I’m going to miss him for sure.”
It was reported last month that Kelce informed his teammates that he was planning to retire. Fast forward to mid-February, however, and the perennial Pro Bowler still hasn’t made a final announcement.

Though he’ll be 37 years of age in October, Kelce has showed zero signs of slowing down. As such, his likely retirement would open a giant hole on the Eagles’ offensive line.
Per Pro Football Focus, Kelce allowed only one sack on 1,108 offensive snaps while grading out at 80.8 on the year. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was sacked only 36 times on the season, and the o-line’s success was once again largely thanks to Kelce’s dominance.
Having won a Super Bowl 52 ring with the Eagles in 2017, Kelce has nothing else to achieve or play for. He’ll unquestionably go into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
