Jalen Carter broke the internet on Monday night when he NEARLY intercepted Patrick Mahomes’ spike late in the first half.
A heads-up Carter nearly picked off Mahomes’ throw into the ground which would have thwarted Harrison Butker’s 43-yard field goal attempt. Just look at how close the Eagles’ rookie was to making the high IQ play:
As you can see in the video shared by Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94.1 WIP in Philadelphia, Carter stated that he saw a high school player attempt it in a YouTube Video. That’s where the Georgia product got the inspiration to try and disrupt Mahomes’ spike.
It didn’t matter that Carter fell just short anyway. The Eagles’ defense pitched a second half shutout, and the offense scored two touchdowns in a 21-17 comeback victory.
