The Philadelphia Eagles are thought to be sweating over Jalen Carter’s availability ahead of the Super Bowl.
The NFC champions will need all hands on deck when they face the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday after falling short in their last meeting and admittedly look like a much stronger team than the one that suffered a marginal defeat to the two-time reigning champs in 2023.
While their roster is as formidable as it gets, Carter, one of their most important defensive players, isn’t 100 percent.
The star defensive tackle has missed media availability in New Orleans for two consecutive days and was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday.
NBC’s John Clark noted having been told by Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio that the player is dealing with an illness that is spreading through the locker room, though he is hopeful he will be able to play on Sunday.
Jalen Carter Isn’t The Only Eagles Worry Heading Into Sunday
Should Carter fail to play, it will be a massive blow to the Eagles, as he has been key to their success this season.

The former Georgia standout recorded 42 tackles, 12 of them for loss, and 4.5 sacks this season and made his first Pro Bowl as a second-year player.
He has kept up his form in the playoffs and, if he plays, will definitely be one to watch at Super Bowl 57.
Carter isn’t the only Eagles worry heading into the big game. Edge rusher Brandon Graham is looking to make a return after being out since Week 12, while linebacker Zack Baun practiced with a groin on Wednesday.
Wide receiver DeVonta Smith was also limited in Wednesday’s practice with a hamstring injury.
