Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts didn’t mince words when discussing his team’s stunning loss at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.
The Eagles (10-4) dropped their third consecutive game after allowing backup quarterback Drew Lock (filling in for an injured Geno Smith), to throw the game-winning touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba with only 28 seconds remaining.
Speaking to reporters after the game, a visibly defeated and disappointed Hurts called out his team by suggesting that they simply aren’t “committed enough” right now.
“We didn’t execute. I don’t think we’re…committed enough…just gotta turn it around,” Hurts said, via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
The Eagles have already exceeded last year’s regular season losing total (they finished 14-3). Factoring in the head-to-head tiebreaker, they’re essentially two games behind the San Francisco 49ers (11-3) for the NFC’s top seed.

On top of that, Monday’s loss ensured that Philly remained tied with the Dallas Cowboys for first in the NFC East. A victory would have had the Eagles in the driver’s seat to lock up a second straight division title.
Hurts and the Eagles will try to turn it around when they host the archrival New York Giants on Christmas Day next week.
