Ben Simmons is not only getting blasted by those in and around the NBA world, but he is also getting it from the NFL side as well.
Jason Kelce, the Eagles’ Super Bowl hero center, is now speaking out in the situation regarding the disgruntled all-star and him wanting to be traded.
“I think it’s pretty f—ing easy, to be honest with you,” Kelce said Thursday. “You just have to go out there and play hard. You want to be loved in the city as a baseball player? Run to first base. They’re gonna f—ing love you.”
“If you’re struggling, you’re fighting, and you’re really trying, they’re still going to respect you, Kelce said. “That’s what I think most guys miss. I really don’t think this is a hard place to play at all, to be honest with you. I think a hard place to play is a miserable place like Jacksonville where nobody cares.”
The former All-Pro lineman has seen his fair share of ups and down over his 11 years with the Eagles. Kelce has started 111 consecutive games for the Eagles, the longest streak for a center in the NFL.
Kelce was a three-time first-team All-Pro selection and became the face of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII parade, where he gave a celebration speech for the ages.

“What’s going on with the 76ers and Ben Simmons and stuff like that, all of that is because of a lack of accountability, a lack of owning up to mistakes and a lack of correcting things,” Kelce said. “If all that got corrected and you’re fixing free throws and you’re getting better as a player, none of this is happening. Everybody can bitch and complain about how tough the city is to play in. Just play better man and the city will love you.”
“If you stick to it, fight through it, and you get better, they’ll respect the hell out of you.”
