Philadelphia Eagles head of security Dom DiSandro is expected to incur further punishment on the back of a surprising ejection while the reigning NFC champions played the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.
DiSandro, known as “Big Dom,” was at the center of a melee after stepping out in front of Niners linebacker Dre Greenlaw after he hit Philly wide receiver DeVonta Smith with a suplex out of bounds.
Greenlaw was flagged for unnecessary roughness and was disqualified from the game, with Big Dom also getting his marching orders after getting swiped in the face by the irate LB. Both he and the Eagles are reportedly expected to be hit with “a significant punishment.”
According to ProFootballTalk.com:
“Big Dom was sent off the field, too. And that could just be the beginning. As one high-level executive with another team predicts to PFT, there will be a significant punishment imposed both on DiSandro and the Eagles by the league.”
While DiSandro was kicked off the field and could attract further sanctioning, his reputation among Philly fans has gone up several levels. He was treated to a standing ovation while walking off.
