Having Nick Foles as your back-up quarterback has been great for the Philadelphia Eagles over the past two years as he’s stepped in and delivered a Super Bowl victory in 2018 and then came in again to spring the team into the playoffs that saw their season come to an end in the Divisional round vs. Saints.
It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that Foles would be gone following the playoff loss, but that doesn’t mean the team wants to play against him twice a year.
The Eagles are expected to franchise tag and trade backup quarterback Nick Foles, not because they want something in exchange for him, but more so because they are scared a division rival is going to try and trade for him.

According to two NFL sources, Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman is considering that idea after an exchange of moves that could potentially leave Foles as the top free agent quarterback on the market next month.
The Eagles believe there’s a strong chance the Giants will part ways with Manning and attempt to sign Foles if Foles hits the market.
Chris Mortensen already said the Eagles “don’t want [Foles] to go to the Giants or the Redskins,” with both teams in desire to improve that position going forward.
Let’s be honest, you don’t want to see what Nick Foles could do in an offense that has Odell Beckham Jr. ans Saquon Barkley in it.
