The Philadelphia Eagles are making roster moves this weekend, having cut three players on Saturday following their final preseason game on Thursday.
Teams have until Tuesday afternoon to trim their squads down to three players. And, according to sources cited by ProFootballTalk.com, the team waived quarterback Ian Book, as well as tight ends Tyree Jackson and Dan Arnold.
Book was a fourth-round pick for the New Orleans Saints three years ago and made one start as a rookie. Philadelphia claimed him off waivers last year but has now opted to release him. His departure leaves the team with two quarterbacks behind Jalen Hurts, namely Marcus Maropta and Tanner McKee.
Jackson was a QB for the University of Buffalo but transitioned to TE in the NFL. He made three catches for 22 yards in 14 appearances for Philly.
Arnold, meanwhile, only joined the team in the offseason, having made nine catches for 135 yards with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. He’s also played for the Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and the Saints.
